What it is

Kona Country Club is an 18-hole championship public golf course situated in Keauhou, approximately six miles south of downtown Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. Designed by William Bell and built in 1966, the course is known as the "Ocean Course" due to its spectacular oceanfront setting with several holes playing directly along the Pacific. It features wide, lush Bermuda grass fairways and greens, numerous sand bunkers, and natural obstacles including lava fields and the ocean itself. The course has been recognized as one of the top golf facilities in America by publications like Golf Digest, Golf for Women magazine, ESPN, and Zagat.

The club also includes a full-service pro shop, a driving range, putting and chipping greens, and an on-site restaurant, Amici Vista Grill, with a bar.

Junior rates and resort guest discounts (for those staying in adjacent Keauhou area resorts) are also available. Rental club sets typically cost $55-$70, and a rider fee (for non-golfers accompanying a player) is $35-$38. Prices are subject to change.

Historically, Kona Country Club had a "Mountain Course" in addition to the "Ocean Course," but the Mountain Course was abandoned, and the current operation focuses solely on the renovated 18-hole Ocean Course.
